Once booked in, you’ll be sent some paperwork to complete and return ahead of our meeting.
Applying a Functional Medicine approach to nutritional therapy, your programme is tailored to your particular needs, following research-based advice.
Together, we’ll ascertain possible underlying imbalances that may be provoking symptoms, set within the context of your past and current health concerns and lifestyle factors. If further clarification is needed, I may suggest laboratory testing.
Using this thorough approach, we can create a clear picture of what may need addressing in your diet and lifestyle.
The first session is 90 minutes and during this time we’ll set clear goals and take an in-depth look at your health history. This will include considering areas such as your family history, current symptoms, medications, physical activity, stress levels and eating habits.
I take into consideration not only your health goals but also practicalities such as your ability and desire to cook; time constraints and day to day lifestyle demands. I ensure that changes are simple and manageable so whatever your lifestyle, you’ll find it easy to embrace them.
You’ll leave the session with:
• recommendations for dietary and lifestyle changes
• recommendations for laboratory testing if I feel this would be helpful
• supplement suggestions
Follow up appointments
During follow-up sessions we discuss what’s worked and what may need changing. Your personalised programme may be tweaked if needed, to help you meet your goals.
Where necessary, I suggest laboratory testing to clients to help identify particular clinical imbalances. Tests I regularly recommend include:
• stool test
• female hormone panel
• adrenal stress index
• food intolerance or allergy profile
• vitamin D test
• full thyroid panel
